As always, our naturopathic doctors are there to help guide you to choose the best option for your needs.

Before your arrival

Before your IV appointment, we encourage you to have a light meal and to drink lots of water. Staying well-hydrated is crucial for the effectiveness of IV therapy, ensuring a quick delivery of nutrients. If possible, try to avoid taking over-the-counter medications, especially antihistamines, as they can make it harder to locate your veins.

At your arrival

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to check in and get comfortable. If this is your first time visiting, you will meet with one of our naturopathic doctors for an IV consultation to help determine if IV nutrient therapy is suitable for you and to help decide which IV would best suit your goals.

Duration of appointments

If you’re in for an intramuscular vitamin injection, then you could be in and out within 5-10 min. If you are in for an IV, it can take anywhere from 30-120 minutes, depending on the size of the IV bag selected. A typical drip requires 45-60 minutes, while larger drips take longer, depending on the size of your veins and the rate of administration.

The Process

If you fear needles, no need to worry. Our staff is well trained to provide you with maximum comfort and to help make the procedure as painless as possible. During the initial needle insertion, you may experience some minor discomfort, similar to having your blood drawn. Afterwards, settle in and recline back in one of our comfortable lounge chairs while your body and cells are infused with vitamins and nutrients. Feel free to take a nap, read, or use your headphones and device during this time.

Common questions about IV nutrient therapy

What are the goals of IV nutrient therapy?

Wellness IV therapy is designed to deliver vitamins, minerals and amino acids faster and more effectively to your body’s tissues and cells compared with traditional methods such as oral supplementation. Nutrients administered via IV or intramuscular injection bypass the digestive system and enter the bloodstream to be delivered to where they are needed in your body. This helps to support your body to heal and recover faster.

How often should I receive IV nutrient therapy?

For most acute conditions such as colds, viral illnesses, or sports recovery, one or two IVs in a row will generally do the trick.

For most chronic health conditions, we recommend a series of IV &/or intramuscular injections once weekly for the first 4 weeks followed by monthly or bimonthly treatments to help maintain your results. Some of our patients come in for monthly IVs and weekly intramuscular injections simply to feel better and to provide their bodies with optimal nutrition. Our naturopathic doctors can help you choose which services and frequency would best suit your needs.

Can you help me choose an IV nutrient therapy based on my concerns?

Yes, of course! We offer an initial IV consultation with one of our well trained naturopathic doctors to go over your concerns and health goals in order to recommend the perfect blend of IV nutrients for you. To take your experience to the next level, you might want to consider doing one of our wellness lab tests. This is a great way to help us put together a treatment plan for you based on your body’s (own) personal needs.

Is IV nutrient therapy a quick fix?

IV nutrient therapy is by no means a quick fix. For individuals without any symptoms and seeking to remain healthy, it will take less time to achieve desired results. However, if you are currently having symptoms you may feel a difference after just a few short weeks of IV nutrient therapy. Simply stick with it!. Consistency is important for optimal results.
